It is truly one of the least understood realities (in our Western mindset) that to achieve success we need to be sincere in seeking the good of others. But, because that behaviour generally is not modelled by those at the forefront of the public space - whether in government, politics, business or, sadly, even faith communities - the culture of pursuing success is distorted, skewed towards an easier goal, and one that comes more “naturally”: ME.
There is a better way. The “Golden Rule” is cherished as an ideal. Where that Law has been followed we can point to outstanding examples of human generosity and achievements.
Perhaps we should find out who initiated it, and go to that Source of inspiration, guidance and direction?
