LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE?

The judgement of an English court of the actions of Rebecca Silk, wife of Huntingdon MP Jonathan Djanogly has rendered justice to two women who worked for their household as housekeepers, spoke of being treated "like a slave" and had to take legal action to get paid.

This is a tragedy for so many - firstly for the women concerned, who have been vindicated by the courts. In a legal system that too frequently appears to favour those who can pay over those who cannot, this is an unusual, but positive, outcome.

But this is also a tragedy for British leadership generally, and British politics more specifically. Irrespective of their political badges, it is clear that there is a deep-seated rotteness at the core of the political system - Conservative, Labour, Lib-Dem, Green, SNP... There needs to be wholesale change, where the security and wellbeing of the Citizens of this once-great nation can be assured.
